Roy Skogseth initially painted naturalistically, then switched to a strong simplification of natural forms and in the early 1960s had reached the partially abstract expressionism with which he continued to work. The motifs' starting point is nature, e.g. smaller sections from the shoreline and larger uniform views of the landscape. After a period there Skogseth.' images were characterized by fierce and dynamic movements, from the mid-70s they reveal a relaxation to a greater contemplative calm. This tendency is also expressed in the less abstracted landscapes of recent years, painted with a broad brush. S. is a distinct colourist, can achieve interesting textures and likes to operate with bold color contrasts. The technique is usually oil and watercolour, but also gouache, acrylic and monotype.
It is signed by the artist Roy Skogseth 1982.
Picture is in good vintage condition but the frame has a small damage at the top of the frame as shown in pictures.
