An exceptionally rare Norwegian milk goose (melkegås), hand carved from solid hardwood and used in rural households during the 18th–19th century — a true survivor from pre-industrial Scandinavia.
Milk geese were functional dairy vessels traditionally used in Norwegian farm culture, often carved locally and passed down through generations. This example displays strong sculptural presence with its elongated neck handle and hollowed body, reflecting both utility and symbolic folk tradition.
