Rare antique Norwegian bentwood box (svepask) dated 1795 with initials S.A.S. carved on the bottom.
The box features traditional geometric and star pattern carvings on the lid and sides, all hand-made with beautiful folk art detail.
These bentwood boxes were commonly used in rural Norway during the 18th and 19th century for storing textiles, food, or valuables.
This piece carries wonderful patina, a warm natural wood tone, and authentic wear from nearly 200 years of history.
