Marked “13 3/4” lodd silver, this piece reflects the historical Norwegian silver standard used before the later 925 sterling system. The cup bears the Thune mark along with the year 1858 and is engraved on the front:
“A. Østbye 23-11-1858”
and
“One trip to Egerberg”
