Antique Norwegian Bentwood Tine Box – ca. 1920s
A charming example of traditional Norwegian folk art, this oval bentwood tine box is handmade of thin bentwood staves fastened with wooden pegs and lacing. The box is decorated with stamped rosette and geometric patterns along the sides and lid. It has a warm patina developed over more than a century.
These boxes were used in Norway for food storage, gifts, and keepsakes. Today, it makes a wonderful decorative piece, heritage collectible, or functional container for jewelry, trinkets, or rustic table décor.
