This antique copper pot is a hand crafted European household vessel, made using traditional hammering techniques and fitted with a forged iron handle secured by riveted copper lugs.
The rounded, bulbous form was well suited for hanging over an open hearth, while the hammered copper surface and visible construction details reflect utilitarian folk craftsmanship. The interior shows signs of traditional tin lining, a common historical practice intended to protect copper from reacting with food.
Originally used for cooking or general household purposes, pieces like this are now appreciated primarily as decorative antiques. Today it works well as a rustic interior accent, storage vessel, or decorative display object.
