This vintage Singer sewing machine is a Model 201K, manufactured in Clydebank, Scotland between 1947 and 1949, identified by the EE-prefixed serial number. The 201K is widely regarded as one of Singer’s finest machines, known for its precision engineering, quiet operation, and long-term durability.
This example is electrically powered and features a less common knee lever speed control rather than a traditional foot pedal. The curved metal lever is operated by the thigh, allowing hands-free speed adjustment while sewing. The machine has been lubricated and runs smoothly, and the integrated work light was tested and is functioning.
The drive belt shows visible age-related wear but does not slip during operation.
