This wall mounted candle holder was designed by renowned Norwegian artist Konrad Galaaen for Porsgrund Porcelain Factory. It is a classic example of Scandinavian mid century design, produced in the 1960s or 1970s.
The ceramic tile is finished with a special crystalline or enamel glaze technique that creates a surface resembling crushed glass beneath a clear glaze. This gives the piece a glossy appearance with strong depth and rich, vibrant colors. The tile is mounted in a black iron frame with an integrated candle dish and wall hanger.
The candle holder comes with its original box and appears unused, making it a highly desirable example of Norwegian studio-influenced design from this period.
