This is a vintage Norwegian rosemaling bowl from the 1970s, inspired by traditional Scandinavian folk art used in rural Norway for serving ale, porridge, or ceremonial food. The bowl is hand made in wood and decorated in the classic Telemark style, known for its flowing, asymmetrical floral and scroll motifs.
The interior is richly painted with layered colors and detailed brushwork, showing a steady and confident hand.
