This is an original Norwegian bentwood tine box from the 1920s, hand painted in traditional Os rose painting originating from a small area outside Bergen. The box is made using classic bentwood construction, with wooden staves held by bands and a fitted lid with integrated handle.
The surface is richly decorated with floral folk art motifs in warm red, green, blue, and yellow tones, characteristic of Os painting from western Norway. The lid and sides show confident, hand painted ornamentation with balanced composition and lively color contrasts.
