This hand carved Norwegian wood lamp is most likely made by Anker Valter Walle (1906–1990). The sculpture depicts a Norwegian woodsman carrying a pack on his back, carved in Walle’s characteristic expressive and textured style.
His workshop production from the 1940s–1950s often portrayed figures connected to Norwegian nature and rural life. The bold carving and strong vertical composition are consistent with mid century Norwegian folk art craftsmanship.
The lampshade is of newer date. The wooden base shows natural age wear and patina consistent with 1950s Norwegian workshop production.
