This Norwegian folk art wooden box was made in 1999 and features traditional Telemark style rosemaling. The hand painted floral scrollwork is rich in classic red, green and blue tones set against a dark background.
The box is constructed using traditional stave construction, where vertical wooden slats are joined and secured by bands. It is signed by the artist underneath and marked as a gift dated 2003.
