Mid century Norwegian ceramic wall plaque designed by Konrad Galaaen for Porsgrund Studio. This piece features a stylized bird motif, often described as a hen or decorative folk bird, executed in his characteristic deep relief glaze technique.
The design is created by pressing the motif into the clay to form recessed areas, which are then filled with richly colored glazes. This technique creates a striking depth effect and contrast between raised outlines and glossy glazed sections. The vivid blues, turquoise and green tones are typical of Scandinavian ceramics from the 1960s–1970s.
The plaque is fitted with metal wall hangers and is ready to display. A bold and graphic Scandinavian statement piece that works beautifully in both modern and vintage interiors.
