Authentic Norwegian bentwood tine box from the 1920s, crafted in the traditional sveipet technique where a thin wooden plank is steamed, bent into oval form and joined at the seam. Originally used for storing food, textiles or personal valuables, today it makes a beautiful folk art keepsake chest.

The surface is richly decorated with traditional pokerwork (burned) geometric patterns featuring stars, circles and diamond motifs. The lid has a central arched handle and is secured by two vertical carved locking tabs — often referred to as “horns” — that hold it firmly in place when pressed down.

The design is simple, practical and distinctly Nordic. The natural wood tone combined with the hand-burned decoration gives it warmth and character. It carries honest age wear and a soft patina that enhances its rural charm.
