Classic hand carved Kashmiri puzzle box from the 1960s, featuring detailed leaf and vine carving across the lid and front. The craftsmanship reflects traditional Indian woodworking from the Kashmir region.
The box opens using a hidden sliding wooden mechanism integrated into the carved front panel. This secret locking feature is the signature element of these traditional “puzzle” or “secret” boxes.
Inside are two compartments, making it suitable for jewelry, small keepsakes, or playing cards. The interior shows natural wood grain typical of shesham (Indian rosewood) or walnut, both commonly used for these handcrafted boxes.
