A rare and charming antique egg stand from Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik (PP), Norway, dating to approximately 1887–1911 based on the blue anchor mark.
This model is known as the classic Norwegian “Kona paa Landet” decor (Decoration No. 2950). The design features beautifully hand-painted hens and farm motifs, accompanied by the traditional Norwegian rhyme:
“Det var en Kone paa Landet,
hun havde en Höne blandt andet,
nu lægge Æg er Hönens Fag,
og denne gav et hver eneste Dag.”
The stand is executed in elegant Rococo style with soft scalloped contours and a decorative gilded handle. It holds six matching egg cups, each with wavy gold-trimmed rims.

CONDITION
Good antique condition. Visible wear to the gilding on the handle and rims, consistent with age and use. No major cracks observed. Very well preserved considering it is over 100 years old.
