A highly detailed Norwegian bunad dress knife by Tore Noddeland, crafted as a formal decorative piece for traditional costume and special occasions.
The fittings are solid 925 sterling silver (marked 925S), all hand engraved, including the silver mounts on the leather sheath. The blade is signed by Tore Noddeland.
The handle is carved from holly wood – an exceptionally hard, heavy and dense wood. It is known as one of the whitest woods in existence, with a uniform pale ivory-white tone and almost no visible grain. Due to its tight structure, it can be polished to an extremely smooth, almost glass-like finish. The carving features a powerful lion head motif and is topped with a small silver crown detail.
The sheath is made of black leather, hand decorated and fitted with engraved sterling silver mounts, designed for wear with bunad or formal dress.
