Constructed from pressed and formed sheet steel rather than heavy cast iron, this compact model features floral japanned decoration, nickel plated stitch plate marked No 27660, hand crank mechanism and original spool holder.
Such lightweight metal models were often produced as child training machines, travel models or demonstration pieces in Germany around 1900–1925.
