This is an authentic NyForm Troll, model 124, often referred to as the “Fat Troll” or “Troll Man.” The design has been part of the NyForm collection since 1975 and portrays a joyful, round-bellied troll holding his stomach while laughing — sometimes described as a grandfather-style troll.
NyForm was founded in 1964 by Trygve Torgersen, and the trolls have been produced in Norway following the original Norwegian design tradition ever since.
Each NyForm troll is handmade in Norway using natural latex (rubber tree sap) and other natural materials. Every figure is individually molded and hand painted, meaning no two trolls are exactly alike. The expressive face, long nose and thick natural hair reflect classic Norwegian mountain folklore and Scandinavian folk art.
This example is in vintage condition with natural age-related wear. Light surface patina and minor cracking in the latex consistent with age. Hair remains full and intact. Structurally solid with strong character presence.
