This is an authentic NyForm Troll model 178, introduced in 1997. The design portrays a father troll carrying a child on his back in a classic piggyback pose, capturing warmth, humor, and Norwegian mountain folklore in one expressive scene.
NyForm was founded in 1964 in the mountain village of Tynset, Norway. Each troll continues to follow the original Norwegian design tradition established by Trygve Torgersen.
Every NyForm troll is handmade in Norway using natural latex (rubber tree sap) and chalk. Each figure is individually molded and hand-painted, meaning no two are exactly alike. Variations in hair, eyes, and coloring make each piece unique. The expressive face, long nose, and thick natural hair reflect traditional Scandinavian folk art and mountain legend themes.
Vintage condition with natural age-related wear. Light patina and minor surface cracking consistent with age. Structurally solid with strong display presence.
