This Norwegian Fosse Troll figurine is model 131, commonly known as the “Troll on Pot”. The humorous design shows the troll sitting on a chamber pot with a thoughtful expression, a long curved nose, and wide glass eyes that give the figure a distinctive personality.
Fosse Troll figures were produced in Norway and sculpted by Sven Schulze. Each figure was handmade using a mixture of chalk and clay with latex as a binder, then individually hand painted and finished with natural hair. Because of this handmade process, every troll has slight variations in color and facial details.
Model 131 is a recognizable vintage design from the 1970s and is especially known among collectors for its playful and humorous character inspired by Scandinavian folklore.
