This vintage Norwegian troll figurine was produced by Figur-Kunst in Kragerø, Norway and designed by German artist Sven Schulze, the central designer behind the famous Fosse Troll series. The sculpture shows a humorous scene of a troll sitting astride a small moose, holding the antlers while riding it.
Fosse trolls are handmade in Norway using a traditional mixture of natural latex together with chalk and clay materials. Each piece is individually molded and hand painted, giving every troll its own personality and small variations.
This model is known as Fosse Troll model 211, often referred to as “the troll with moose”. It is a recognizable design from the 1980s and a charming example of Norwegian folklore humor.
