This vintage Fosse Troll figurine represents a rare Santa-style Norwegian nisse character carrying a sack on his back. The figure stands leaning forward with a mischievous expression, red hat and large natural beard, giving the piece strong Scandinavian folklore character.
Fosse trolls were handmade in Norway using natural composite materials such as chalk, clay and latex, combined with synthetic or natural hair. Each piece was individually molded and hand painted, meaning small variations give every figure its own personality.
