Discover a premier piece of Norwegian cultural heritage with this authentic vintage "Myllarguten" bunad knife (traditional men's national costume dress knife). Designed and manufactured by the renowned Norwegian pewter smithy Haugrud (Model No. 68 K), this is one of the most iconic, sought-after, and prestigious heirloom knives associated with traditional Norwegian regional dress.
The knife features a beautifully contoured handle crafted from premium polished Masur birch (curly birch), showcasing a spectacular, high-contrast natural wood grain. Both the knife hilt and the genuine black leather sheath are adorned with exceptionally crisp, heavily detailed cast pewter fittings featuring traditional Norwegian acanthus scrollwork.
The front of the sheath's pewter mount features an elegant custom engraving with the initials and date: "O.A. 30-6-07" (June 30th, 2007)—adding a wonderful touch of personal modern history to this legacy piece. The knife appears completely unused, remaining in magnificent mint/near-mint condition, and comes nestled in its original presentation box from jeweler Mestergull Pettersen & Snoek (Porsgrunn, Norway).
