Add a touch of exquisite Scandinavian Art Deco elegance to your table with this rare antique 1920s Norwegian mechanical sugar tongs (also beautifully utilized as olive or pickle grabber claws). This ingenious spring-loaded mechanical server features a beautifully vibrant, hand-painted guilloche enamel flower medallion on the top plunger button, showcasing stunning shades of burnt orange, cream, and yellow.
The handle shaft is meticulously crafted with classic mid-century Nordic lines and an ornamental central floral guard flange. When the plunger is depressed, three delicate silver-plated claws emerge smoothly from the housing to securely grasp sugar cubes, olives, berries, or cocktail garnishes.
True to its century-old history, there are some minor, honest surface marks and light age-related wear consistent with its age. Most importantly, the delicate glass enamel remains completely intact without any chips, cracks, or missing sections—a rare find for functional enamelware from this period.
