His lifelike wolf portraits remain highly collectible masterpieces, and this rare porcelain transfer edition is a standout tribute to his work.
The artwork, titled "Ulv" (Canis Lupus), is beautifully printed directly onto a solid porcelain plaque, featuring three wolves moving in a tight pack through a snowy forest. The porcelain gives the charcoal-style illustration a stunning depth and a smooth, luminous finish against the soft icy-blue backdrop. It comes housed in its original 1980s gold-finished wooden frame, with the signature and date "-84" printed directly on the piece.
The reverse side preserves its original educational backing board from "Håndverkatelier Dub" in Skien, Norway. It features a fascinating mid-1980s text in Norwegian detailing the critically endangered status of the Scandinavian wolf population at that exact time (noting a total population of only around 20 wolves in Norway and Sweden during the winter of 1983/84). This adds a unique layer of historical and conservationist provenance to a gorgeous piece of Nordic art.
