Step back into the golden age of European folk art and traditional wooden toys with this charming German horse figure dating from the 1940s.
Made from painted wood, the horse has a wonderfully simple folk art form with long slender legs, a cream and gray painted coat, black bridle and harness details, a vivid red saddle, and a natural straw tail. The combination of hand finished details and restrained coloring gives it a distinctive European country character.
Decades of age have softened the original white color into a warmer cream tone and created an attractive natural patina.
