A substantial hand-forged iron key from the Telemark region of Norway, dating to approximately the 19th century. Its large size, simple loop handle, and shaped bit make it an appealing piece of Norwegian rural history and traditional ironwork.
The long shaft and cut, projecting bit show the practical character of old blacksmith-made hardware. Brown rust, dark oxidation, and worn surfaces give the iron a distinctive aged appearance. The original lock and building are unknown, so a specific farmhouse or storehouse use cannot be confirmed.
