Konrad Galaaen Wall Candle Holder - 1970s Orange Ceramic and Iron
$196.00 $245.00
A Norwegian ceramic and iron wall candle holder by Konrad Galaaen, dating to the 1970s. Its square ceramic panel features a warm orange and rust-red field, with a broad cream circular motif outlined in dark tones. An irregular cream accent contrasts with the dark brown and black center.
The glossy surface has a decorative crackled glass effect that adds depth and texture. Light brings out the variations in color, giving the geometric composition a striking presence as wall art even without a candle.
Galaaen’s tile and relief work explored the expressive qualities of ceramic surfaces and color. Here, the decorative panel is set within a dark iron frame, with a projecting round candle tray and a central spike. A hanging tab at the top allows the piece to be mounted on a wall.
