Konrad Galaaen Ceramic Wall Candle Holder - 1960s Norwegian Modernist Tiles in Iron
$460.00 $575.00
A striking 1960s Norwegian wall candle holder by Konrad Galaaen, combining handmade ceramic tiles with a substantial iron frame. Rich blue tones, earthy colors, and varied glazed surfaces give this sculptural piece a distinctive mid-century modern character.
The design features five ceramic tiles: a larger upper tile with a circular blue motif, above four smaller tiles arranged in a square. Their contrasting colors and textured surfaces create a decorative composition, while the dark iron frame provides a strong architectural outline.
The handmade tiles showcase expressive glaze effects, with shifts in color, sheen, and surface texture that invite a closer look. The contrast between the glazed ceramic and substantial iron makes this piece equally appealing as a candle holder and as decorative wall art.
