A small antique Norwegian jewelry box from Hallingdal, dating to approximately the 1910s. Shaped like a miniature chest, it combines a curved lid with colorful hand-painted floral decoration and a well-worn surface that reflects years of use.
Blue flowers, sweeping green leaves, pale pink buds, and fine white flourishes stand out against the warm red-orange ground. Dark blue borders with narrow yellow accents frame the decoration across the lid, front, and sides.
The hinged lid opens to a pale painted interior with a main compartment and a narrow divided section along one side. At approximately 5.79 inches wide, this is a compact jewelry or keepsake box with a strong decorative presence, suited to a shelf, dresser, or folk art collection.

Condition
Antique condition with pronounced age-related wear and patina. The painted surfaces show scuffs, scratches, paint loss, and worn edges, with exposed wood in places. There are visible splits in the wood, wear and discoloration inside, and substantial rubbing to the underside.
A section of wood is missing along the upper edge of one side beneath the lid, as shown in the photographs. The box remains stable, as confirmed by the seller. No key is included, and the lock’s operation has not been verified.
