This rare butter jar with lid was produced by Arabia in Finland and designed by Raija Uosikkinen in the 1960s. A beautiful example of Finnish mid century kitchenware with a distinctive blue cucumber motif decorating the exterior.
The clean cylindrical shape and smooth glazed finish reflect classic Scandinavian design principles from the period. Both functional and decorative, it works equally well in a Nordic kitchen setting or as part of a curated mid century collection.
The jar and lid are in great vintage condition with no peeling or cracks and well preserved decoration. An authentic and collectible 1960s Arabia design piece.
